UNITED WAY OF GREATER NASHVILLE: BLUEPRINT FOR EARLY CHILDHOOD SUCCESS

THE SITUATION:

As the new backbone organization for the Blueprint for Early Childhood Success, a city-wide collective impact initiative with the aim of doubling the number of third graders reading on grade level, the United Way of Greater Nashville (UWGN) wanted to ensure it laid a solid foundation by clarifying structures and processes, building trust and collaboration among community partners, and developing a shared vision.

THE SOLUTION:

Elevate served as thought partners and facilitators, building processes for the UWGN Backbone team to map out options, unpack data, and begin building the Blueprint initiative rooted in the values of Collective Impact. Using a developmental evaluation approach, Elevate has supported Blueprint partners in understanding critical contexts, making real-time decisions informed by Collective Impact values and frameworks, and building an inclusive and participatory culture of learning and innovation.

WHAT WE DID:

  • Consultation and learning support for the Collective Impact framework, including governance roles and responsibilities, community engagement, and strategy

  • Development of infrastructure, protocols, and resources to support the Blueprint’s Steering Committee and Working Groups

  • Facilitation of committee to develop funding allocation processes that are aligned with the Blueprint’s values

  • Meeting agenda development and meeting facilitation
